Colchester CompactThe Colchester Compact is a written agreement, developed locally through consultation between representatives from the voluntary and community sector and statutory organisations. It is not a legal document but it does establish a set of good working practices that signatories can draw upon and seeks to develop trust and understanding between partners. At the heart of the Colchester Compact, there is a core document which details the background of the Compact, the core principles and shared undertakings of signatories, undertakings by the statutory sector and undertakings by the voluntary and community sector. In addition, there are codes of practice for four key areas - volunteering, funding, working together and equality and diversity. If you would like to view any of these documents, you can download them (Microsoft Word document) by clicking on the links below: Colchester Compact Core Document Code of Practice on Volunteering Code of Practice on Funding Code of Practice on Working Together Code of Practice on Equality and Diversity There are currently over 50 groups and statutory bodies signed up to Compact (to see a list of members click here).
