Surgeries/Workshops

Community Development Project - one-to-one sessions, Fridays

As part of our continued commitment to the voluntary and community sector in Colchester, Colchester Community Voluntary Services is pleased to announce the launch of its Community Development Project on 1st July 2010.

The Community Development Project has been formed to assist organisations with any of their needs, create links to appropriate services and promote resources within the voluntary and community sector across the Borough.

We will be offering organisations the opportunity to attend one-to-one sessions fortnightly on Fridays, where they will be able to meet with our qualified and experienced members of staff.

We are able to offer new and established groups support with:

· Business Planning
· Constitutions
· Registration as a non-profit organisation
· Fundraising
· Bespoke and Group Training
· News and Information about the Voluntary and Community Sector

Colchester Fundraisers Network Meetings

We are pleased to announce the re-launch of our Fundraiser's Network Group Meeting.

Training

Colchester CVS offers a range of different training courses, dealing with a number of different topics.  At present we are reviewing our Autumn/Winter training programme.  If you would like us to provide any training please let us know which topics interest you.  Our training programme will begin, however, with:

Get Ready for Contracts - Introduction to Voluntary Sector Procurement

This course caters for those charities and voluntary groups who find they now have to tender for contracts to continue to deliver their services.  Topics covered will be:

• Where to find tender opportunities
• Low-value contracts
• "Get fit for tendering"
• Writing a strategy
• What to write in a tender
• Common mistakes

Colchester Community Voluntary Services established the CCVS Community Forum to give the opportunity for organisations to meet, discuss and promote ideas and issues that affect the voluntary and community sector.

Volunteers Lunch
